I was born in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. After graduating from the
prestigious Toho-Gakuen Conservatory in Tokyo, I returned to
Hokkaido to teach music and perform with musicians of the Sapporo
Symphony Orchestra and other well known groups. In 1997, I moved to
Russia to increase my knowledge of music at the St. Petersburg
Conservatory of Music. In 2000, I placed second in an international
chamber music competition in Kiev, Ukraine. Later that year I
toured across Russia, performing as a soloist with local orchestras,
such as The St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Hermitage Chamber
Orchestra, Volgograd Symphony, and the Kislovodsk Symphony. Since
2001, I was the music director of the annual Japan-Russia
music festival, “Japanese Spring in St. Petersburg”. In 2001, I also received Doctor of Musical Art Degree from the St. Petersburg
Conservatory. In 2003, I placed second in an International duo
competition in Kazan, Russia. That same year, It was also “The Japan
Year” in Russia and I was awarded by the St. Petersburg Governor
and the General Consul of Japan for the contribution
toward Japanese-Russian cultural exchange. In 2006, the Japanese
Consul in St. Petersburg presented me with commendation award from the Japanese Government for the dedication
as a cultural ambassador of Japan in Russia . In 2007, as a part
of the G8 Hokkaido summit, I was appointed by the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs in Japan to perform at the opening of the Mariinsky
Theatre New Concert Hall in St. Petersburg, Russia. In 2008, I was
a jury member of The Serebriakov International Piano competition in
Volgograd, Russia. In 2006, I returned to Japan to teach at Fuji
Women’s University in Sapporo and perform in local concerts. Since March 2009 I work as Piano Teacher at my studio in Oakland Hills and perform occasionally at the Bay area venues. I am also a member of California Music teacher Association.
